If you scroll even further through – and you should – you’ll notice a trend of sharing trends (see what we did there) that Valley Windows loves keeping alive on a daily basis. There are fewer better reasons to design and cultivate a blog for any business than being so enthusiastic about what you do and hopefully engaging your current and prospective customers to feel the exact way. It’s not that hard when you work with us – humble brag. We bring you the very best view through all sorts of window and door solutions, no matter what your home looks like. In fact, it’s one of our favourite things to do, to take a good, long, hard look at your home and come up with the most creative and unique solutions for whatever opportunity you throw at us. Challenge accepted, as we like to say.

We have noticed a growing trend and it’s something that we love to explore. Sometimes we say no to what we find – not all information you find on the internet or in socially distanced activities is correct. Some of the best information is deeply hidden and when we find it, we take a very studious look at whether it’s going to be helpful to you. The answer is not always yes. But, technology (yes, we know that we buried the lead) is going to be around for a long, long time.

So… 2021. Technology and windows. Tell us about it. No problem. Read on for more information.

Forbes shares in this article, “Wellness design was a strong and growing trend before Covid-19 reached our shores early last year, but it has exploded in popularity as the virus increased awareness of the links between home and health. It’s likely that the trend will long outlive the pandemic”. They couldn’t be righter and technology plays a prominent role. What’s great about this article is it references a variety of experts, who may have different design aesthetics, but they’re all on the same page when it comes to this.

This is a fun one and while it’s not in our arsenal yet, we love to learn from the best. Privacy is a big deal – as it should be – and more and more companies are designing doors that are driven by technology to keep what’s supposed to be inside, inside and what’s supposed to be outside, outside. Many of our prospective customers are a little bit overwhelmed by the idea of these, but this article breaks down exactly how they work.

Why not end on a note celebrating our fluffy friends. For any of us owning them, we know that keeping them safe is a paramount responsibility. Thanks to technology, we can rest a little bit more easily, especially with technologies like those shared in this article. Stay tuned for more on this topic…

The season where you will get to enjoy all of the grateful, motivated, inspired post content possible for the Valley Windows team. We try and restrain ourselves every year, waiting until at least November 1. But there are probably worse problems to have than bursting at the seams and wanting to celebrate the end of one year and the beginning of a new one.

We’re thinking we’d be hard pressed to find many who want to hold on to 2020; we’re guessing most of you are racing towards 2021. You’ll get to reset, you’ll get to be excited about new goals and projects, and you’ll get to put this crazy year in the rearview mirror… finally! Like we said, lots to discuss over the next couple of months – looking back and looking forward, but in the spirit of positivity, today… we’re looking forward!

What can you expect in relation to windows and related trends next year? Let’s break it down:

Technology

We could write an entire post about windows and technology; in fact, we have. We’ll continue to do so, with a specific lens to 2021, because this is a topic and a trend that’s not going anywhere. This article sums it up perfectly, “Automation and motorization are the perfect opportunities to improve the quality of life, bring comfort to the next level, and take another step into the future.” Automated systems aren’t the exception now, they’re the rule. More manufacturers are helping out with solutions like raf curtains that are installed outside and then controlled remotely and automatic roller shutters.

Blinds

The buzzwords that you need to know are roller blinds and roman blinds. Minimalism is more popular than ever and both of these styles support that. They have the clean and simple lines that many crave, especially because they end up complimenting so many different architectural styles. When many think of minimalism, they think of lack of colour, but that doesn’t need to be the case with these. They have many textures and colours that mirror nature outside or can highlight key statement pieces that you have in any room.

Shutters

Shutters are having a bit of a heyday and it seems that that will only continue into the coming year. The beauty is the plethora of styles that are available – everything from neoclassical to retro and even nautical. Enthusiasts love not only the character that they add to any property, but also the dimensions. Today’s versions aren’t just decorative, they’re functional and far easier to control compared to older versions. Both natural wood and more moisture-resistant options are flooding the market. As with any trend that sees cyclical popularity, you can count on options in 2021 to be unique and out of the box, looking at eco-friendly pleats and interesting horizontal or vertical slats.

Stay safe and sane out there, all of our Valley Windows customers. And get excited about 2021. We’re going to continue to bring you the best view through our premium windows and doors… and so much more!

(If that’s the case, we tip our hats off even more so!) Valley Windows is all about providing a better view for our customers, and in doing so, it’s imperative that we learn all about our industry. We showcase our favourite finds, as well as our most sage advice right here. It’s our guilty pleasure – and it’s amazing to see how passionate our teammates on the Valley Windows team are. It’s reinvigorating, especially as 2018 winds down and we need to get everything in order for the next calendar year. Yes, that means closing the books and it means holiday parties and probably far too much food and drink (more on that later), but it also means preparing.

We’re preparing for the best year ever, and we’re doing our homework. That’s something that you can always expect from the team at Valley Windows. In our last post, we touched on a few of the trends in architecture that are looming large, beginning in January. (Some are even already running rampant). Let’s continue the fun.

We talked through being eco-friendly when renovating in our last post as well as the growing popularity of open-space designs for homes. Another big one coming down the pipeline is thinking small. You’ve seen tiny houses and heard about the need to be as creative and innovative as possible, in order to make them a success. You’re only going to continue to hear about it more. In fact, a lot of these trends have overlap. Eco-friendly and small living are a great example. If you’re trying to fit your entire life in 100 square metres, you’re going to need to make sacrifices. On the plus side, many who choose small living are able to travel at their leisure, so necessities like power and water can be flexible depending on where you are.

Another big conversation is around how you’re paying for your homes. Here is where the Valley Windows team can only offer friendly advice. Do your homework. Do your homework. Do your homework. There are so many different options and ways to finance your home, but it’s a matter of timing. Keep an eye on the improvements and challenges in the housing market, both in your area and nationally. Take stock in how much value your home could appreciate in years to come, or if it might not be a sound investment after all. Meet with experts, and whenever in doubt, reach out to the Valley Windows team. Our goal and our passion will forever remain making sure that you feel safe, comfortable and confident, navigating any project related to your dream home.

Questions? Comments? Let the Valley Windows team know. We’d love to hear from you and talk about the best ways that we can give you and yours a better view.

We shared just how thankful we are for our family of customers; how grateful we are that we get to do something that we’re so passionate about on a daily basis with the best team in the world. We’re not overstating that, we’re sure that your workplaces and colleagues are alright, but in a humble brag moment, we have to proclaim that we have you beat. After all, the reason that we can offer you a better view is because we work with the most premium of materials and the most dedicated and passionate of teammates. It’s thanks to them that we have this blog in the first place, our hub to share all of the information that you could possibly need. Not just about windows and doors, mind you – no, this blog is your place to go, should you have any desire to learn about all sorts of architecture-related content.

With that said, retrospection done and it’s time to get ready for the best year ever. We say it every year, but we know that 2019 will be a special one for Valley Windows and for you. To get you ready, we’ve taken a serious look at trends that are emerging for the next 365 days. Some you may be into and some you may want to shun, but we figured we’d give you the widest variety to choose from.

Eco-friendly is top of mind for many architects, builders and designers alike. Some balk at the idea of overhauling their entire home to save pennies in the long run, but the benefits are much more macro than that. You’re saving the environment, the biggest bonus, but you’re also adding exponential value to your neighborhood. Your neighbors in the area will thank you, your conscience will congratulate you on doing something awesome, and oh yeah – your wallet will be pleased as well. There are a million different, small adjustments that you can make, like updating your windows or looking into more natural energy sources.

Light and space. Two fundamentals of life and homeowners are sitting up and taking notice. Where homes used to be designed to partition off spaces used for different tasks, now individuals, groups and families are moving more towards open-space designs. This one might require slightly more heavy-lifting if you’re interested in heading your home in this direction, but it’s also just a cool evolution to watch happen and learn about. Open-space concepts make spaces seem bigger and brighter, and they’re also great for your overall mood. Bonus? You don’t have to yell for the kids quite as loudly when it’s time for dinner.

This is just part one of a series. In our next post, we’ll dive into even more trends that you and your loved ones should keep a pulse on, as we head into 2019.

Questions? Comments? Let us know. The Valley Windows team would love to hear from you.
