Off-Grid Rural Home
Perched on the northern slopes of Leanganook (Mount Alexander), this striking off-grid residence was thoughtfully designed to sit lightly within its natural surroundings while capturing sweeping views across the Sutton Grange valley. Elevated above the granite-strewn landscape, the home embraces passive design principles with expansive glazing, generous outdoor living spaces, and a strong connection to the surrounding environment.
Valley Windows proudly supplied custom Kiln Dried Hardwood (KD Hardwood) windows and doors, chosen to complement the home’s contemporary rural architecture with the warmth and character of natural timber. Large glazed openings maximise natural light, frame the spectacular landscape, and contribute to the home’s energy-efficient performance, while the handcrafted timber joinery delivers lasting durability and timeless appeal.
Completed in 2014, this project remains an excellent example of how thoughtful architecture, quality craftsmanship, and premium timber windows can create a home that continues to perform and inspire more than a decade later.
