Deck the Halls 2019
It’s always the season to be jolly at Valley Windows, what with everything that we’re grateful for and excited about. It’s one of the hallmarks of why we’re such an amazing company to work for and with – our passion for what we do and our ability to continue to give you a better view. But, there’s probably no better season than the holidays to quite literally, deck the halls.
Deck the Halls is a song with a storied history – all the way back to the 1700s. It’s a favourite because it discusses making sure that your home is festive and joyful and ready to welcome all of your loved ones this holiday season. Obviously, we’re a little bit biased, but you have to assume that decorating your windows and doors is one of the best parts for the Valley Windows team.
There are a couple of great things here. One is that (especially if you work with Valley Windows) your windows provide a beautiful and durable foundation for holiday décor. The second great thing is that the holidays are all about creativity, and this is no exception. You can decorate your windows and doors as much or as little as you’d like. Trends change every year – and we’ll always aim to share our expertise with you – but *fun* is always the bottom line.
Here are some of the most exciting, unique and classic ideas that are in trend this year:
Coloured lights
Coloured lights are a classic, and you can drape them around your windows in whatever configuration makes you happy. Make sure that you identify a power source outside early. Also, make sure that you monitor when your lights are on or off so that you’re not wasting power. White lights are a great alternative if you’re looking for a cleaner look and feel.
Doorstep décor
It doesn’t matter what holiday you celebrate; we’re almost certain that you’ll find some sort of decorations that you can easily put right outside of your door. These are the lowest maintenance way to add some cheer, as you can simply pack them up at the end of the season.
Here’s a misconception – that they need to be only Christmas-related, full of red and green and holly. That’s not the case anymore. You can buy them in any colour and in any material. Maybe even more enticing? You can make them! Look at ideas on Pinterest for inspiration.
Additional Greenery
It doesn’t have to end with wreaths. Remember the aforementioned song “Deck the Halls”? The lyrics tout boughs of holly, which can be a beautiful and simple way to add some colour and life to your home. You can drape these inside your home or outside. They’re equally as easy to dispose of when everything is all said and done.
As we said, the foundation of success here is ensuring that you have the best windows and doors around. There’s one easy way to do that – reach out to Valley Windows today.
