Decking Your Windows and Doors for the Holidays
Even if the temperatures rise, we still know that the holidays are close on the horizon. Everyone celebrates differently with their family and friends, but there are a couple of traditions that tend to be common. No, we don’t necessarily expect the white fall of snow each year, but that shouldn’t stop us from celebrating with those that are closest to us and setting our homes up for celebrations accordingly.
Here at Valley Windows, we spend all year being grateful for our valued community of customers. We don’t even think of you as customers, we think of you as friends and family. We know that you have an abundance of options in the area when it comes to updating, improving or even installing your dream windows and doors. We know why you chose us (because we’re the best in the business and will care tremendously giving you a better view) but that doesn’t matter. You made the decision on your own and we’d like to take this moment (and probably several others over the next few posts on the Valley Windows blog) to say, “thank you, thank you, thank you! You remind us why we’re in this business and why we’ll never stop trying to improve.
So, let’s move on to the most festive topic of 2018 to date – how shall we deck your windows and doors? Easy. Here are a few of our favourite tips and tricks:
Don’t feel locked into a colour scheme
It doesn’t matter what holiday you and yours celebrate, you should be able to represent it proudly. If you’re a fan of Christmas, head to your local hardware store and pick up red, white and green lights. If you celebrate Chanukah, you might be more akin to blue and white. If you’re a Kwanza fan, go big and get all of the colours out of the Crayola box. This doesn’t even begin to encompass the number of holidays and the way that families and friends celebrate the next few months, but you get the picture. Bottom line, represent what means the most to you.
Be careful
This is the parental aspect coming out in our team. You may be looking to line your roof with lights or perhaps just your porch or Be. Careful. Get your ladder, have a spotter, don’t hang lights in the dark and if possible – bring a friend as a partner-in-crime. There’s no shame in this game. In fact, it’s a great way to bond.
Make a statement on your door
Wreathes are common, and again – it doesn’t matter what you celebrate, just know that you have real estate on your door to add extra colour and celebration. Though you can easily pick wreathes and décor up at your local store, if you’re feeling particularly creative, this is a fun way to make your own DIY project and know that you contributed even more holiday spirit than planned to your front door area.
Far more to come, as we at Valley Windows tend to love the holidays a bit. Questions? Give us a shout. We’d love to hear from you.
